Preston, Lancashire, United Kingdom Teaching Personnel Full time

Join Teaching Personnel as an Educational Support Specialist

Are you currently engaged in a Residential Care Environment? Are you contemplating a transition to a more dynamic role within a Primary School?

If you are exploring new employment avenues, Teaching Personnel is here to assist you in securing the ideal position. Recently, we have successfully onboarded numerous exceptional staff members who have experience working with children and/or adults with diverse and complex needs.

Local primary schools are actively seeking support professionals with a care background to enhance the learning and development of children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities. The assistance required for these children varies, including support for diagnosed Autism, ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome, Complex Medical Needs, and Personal Care. Schools are looking for individuals who possess a vibrant and engaging personality, complemented by a range of de-escalation techniques acquired from their experience with vulnerable populations.

Many of our staff transitioning from care backgrounds typically have a full four-week notice period. However, this should not deter you from applying with Teaching Personnel. Schools are eager to provide the right candidate with ample time to fulfill their current commitments while offering a contract through Teaching Personnel that aligns with their preferences.

Furthermore, schools are now welcoming candidates with transferable skills, not solely those with recent educational experience. As long as you are ready to engage actively, communicate with parents and senior leaders, and strive to enhance the learning experiences for children, you will thrive in a Primary School environment.

In addition to contracted work through Teaching Personnel, you will gain access to a variety of professional development courses offered by local client schools. This opportunity will enable you to continually advance your subject knowledge and understanding of the Curriculum at subsidized rates.

You will also receive support from a dedicated team of consultants based in the Preston area at Teaching Personnel. Our consultants are eager to provide guidance based on their extensive experience, with 90% having previously worked as class teachers, sports coaches, and Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistants.

Interested in this opportunity? Please submit your CV for consideration.

All applicants must possess the necessary qualifications and training for this role. For further details, please refer to the FAQ section on the Teaching Personnel website.
All quoted pay rates will include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the potential for permanent opportunities in the future.
Teaching Personnel is dedicated to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. We conduct safeguarding checks on all employees in accordance with DfE statutory guidance, which may include an online search as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
We provide all registered candidates with FREE child protection and prevent duty training. All candidates must undertake or have completed a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, with full assistance available.
