Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time Team Leader within the Ophthalmology Services. This role requires a highly organized and adaptable individual with a strong background in administration and team leadership within a healthcare setting.

As a pivotal point of contact for the Ophthalmology Team, you will demonstrate effective leadership skills while collaborating with consultants, nursing staff, and operational managers. Your ability to manage your schedule and work collaboratively within a team is essential.

Key Responsibilities

A solid understanding of the 18-week patient pathway is crucial for this position, along with an awareness of the relationships between community service providers.

You should be self-driven and exhibit excellent communication and organizational skills, complemented by a flexible approach to your responsibilities. The ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines is required, and a willingness to learn new skills is essential.

Your responsibilities will include overseeing the team of Booking Clerks and Medical Secretaries, which entails providing support during absences and assisting staff with scheduling outpatient clinics and theatre lists.

Qualifications

Essential Criteria

  • Educated to GCSE level standard in Numeracy & English
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience

Knowledge/Experience

  • Previous experience in a leadership role within a customer service environment
  • In-depth knowledge of NHS PAS and EPR or similar administrative systems
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality requirements
