Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Deputy Editor to join the editorial team of a prestigious energy research journal. Since its inception, this journal has rapidly gained recognition as a premier platform for innovative energy research and thoughtful analysis.

The Deputy Editor will play a pivotal role in overseeing all editorial functions, taking charge of coordinating the editorial team, and developing a strategic vision that ensures the journal remains relevant, unique, impactful, and influential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the editorial team by managing workflows, mentoring colleagues, and stepping in for the Editor in Chief as needed.
  • Thoroughly assess submissions to meet high standards for groundbreaking energy research.
  • Establish global connections and commission top-tier submissions, including engaging front matter articles.
  • Formulate and execute a journal strategy that keeps the content topical, distinctive, and influential.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to expand our reach and effectively serve the research communities.
  • Direct strategic initiatives across the organization.
  • Attend international conferences and visit leading research institutions to engage with researchers.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated senior editorial and research experience relevant to the field. Experience in battery research is a plus.
  • A strong passion for sustainable energy research and the ability to connect with and influence global energy researchers.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and team management skills.
