We are seeking a dedicated Associate Editor to join the editorial team of the prestigious Cell Press journal. Since its inception, this journal has rapidly gained recognition as a premier platform for innovative energy research, insightful analysis, and thought-provoking commentary.
The Associate Editor will play a pivotal role in all editorial functions, taking charge of coordinating the editorial team and formulating a strategic vision that ensures the journal remains relevant, unique, impactful, and at the forefront of energy discourse.
Our editorial office is based in North America, with flexibility for remote work arrangements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the editorial team by managing workflow, mentoring colleagues, and acting on behalf of the Editor in Chief.
- Thoroughly assess submissions to meet rigorous standards for groundbreaking energy research.
- Establish global connections and commission top-tier submissions, including compelling front matter articles.
- Develop and execute a journal strategy that maintains topical relevance, distinctiveness, and impact.
- Collaborate with Cell Press colleagues to expand our influence and effectively address the needs of the research communities we serve.
- Oversee strategic initiatives that span across Cell Press.
- Engage in travel to attend international conferences and connect with leading researchers at top institutions.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated senior editorial and research experience relevant to the field. Experience in battery research is a plus.
- A strong passion for sustainable energy research and a proven ability to engage with and influence global energy researchers.
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and team management skills.
