Production Editorial Manager

About the Role
Oxford University Press is seeking a highly experienced Production Editorial Manager to lead our content production team. As a key member of our Publishing and Content Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our learning and teaching resources are produced on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team of Senior Production Editors and Production Editors to deliver high-quality content.
- Develop and implement processes to ensure editorial quality standards are met.
- Plan and allocate resources to meet project deadlines.
- Monitor work in progress and collaborate with project teams to drive efficiencies.
- Work with our Outsourced Services team to manage suppliers and create budgets.
- Implement effective workflows and processes.
- Support knowledge sharing through training and documented guidelines.
About You
We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled Production Editorial Manager who has a proven track record of managing production editorial work for educational publishing. You will have significant experience of managing freelancers and suppliers, as well as reviewing and improving processes.
Requirements
- Significant experience of managing production editorial work for educational publishing.
- Experience of managing freelancers and suppliers.
- Experience of reviewing and improving processes.
- Excellent technical knowledge of editorial tools.
- Line management experience preferred.
Desirable
- Line management experience.
- Understanding of content structures and XML standards.
- Knowledge and experience of the ELT market.
- Working knowledge of Spanish, Italian, Polish, or another foreign language relevant to the ELT market.
- Experience of working in publishing or a similar industry.
