About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Editorial Manager to join our team at Oxford University Press. As a key member of our Content Delivery management team, you will be responsible for managing a team of Senior Production Editors and Production Editors, ensuring that editorial quality standards are met, and planning resources and allocating workload.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of Senior Production Editors and Production Editors, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality content.
  • Develop and implement processes to ensure editorial quality standards are met, and work with our Outsourced Services team to manage suppliers and create budgets.
  • Collaborate with project teams to drive efficiencies and work to align and centralize processes, systems, and data.
  • Support the team and our suppliers by enabling knowledge sharing through training and documented guidelines.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with significant experience of managing production editorial work for educational publishing, including copyediting, proofreading, and other related tasks. You should have experience of reviewing, improving, and implementing processes, as well as demonstrated potential to line manage via coaching, mentoring, or leading others.

Desirable Skills and Experience:

  • Line management experience.
  • Understanding of content structures and XML standards.
  • Knowledge and experience of the ELT market.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish, Italian, Polish, or another foreign language relevant to the ELT market.
  • Experience of working in publishing or a similar industry in a relevant role.
