Role Overview

In the capacity of Editorial Production Manager, you will oversee a dedicated team focused on the creation of educational resources specifically for English Language Teaching (ELT) products. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring that all content is delivered punctually, within budget, and adheres to the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with the central Content Delivery management team, playing a key role in coordinating, planning, and assuring the quality of the production editorial teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a team comprising Production Editors, Packaging Services Editors, and Editorial Corrections Coordinators.
  • Guarantee that editorial quality benchmarks are consistently met by both the team and our external suppliers.
  • Strategically plan resources and manage workload distribution.
  • Oversee the progress of all projects handled by your team.
  • Collaborate with the Outsourced Services team to manage supplier relationships and budget creation.
  • Ensure effective implementation of processes and workflows.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing within the team and with editorial suppliers through training and comprehensive guidelines.

Candidate Profile

Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Extensive experience in managing production editorial tasks within educational publishing, including copyediting and proofreading.
  • Proven track record in managing freelancers and packaging service suppliers for both print and digital formats.
  • Experience in evaluating, enhancing, and executing processes.
  • Demonstrated capability in line management through coaching and mentoring.
  • Strong technical proficiency with editorial tools, including advanced MS Word style sheets and PDF markup.

Desirable Attributes:
  • Prior line management experience.
  • Familiarity with content structures and XML standards.
  • Knowledge of the ELT market.
  • Working proficiency in Spanish, Italian, Polish, or another relevant language.
  • Experience in publishing or a related field.
  • Experience in a matrix organizational structure.
