About the Role

Oxford University Press is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Production Editor, Packaged Services. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for supporting suppliers to utilize our standard processes, systems, and workflows to ensure the efficiency and quality of ELT products from handover of developed content to final print or digital output.

Key Accountabilities & Relationships:

  • Project Management: Oversee the production process, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality content.
  • Supplier Management: Collaborate with suppliers to ensure they are utilizing our standard processes and workflows.
  • Budget Management: Manage budgets and ensure cost-effectiveness in production.
  • Editorial Quality: Ensure the quality of content meets our high standards.
  • Communication and Cross-Functional Team Working: Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless production.
  • Issue Prevention and Resolution: Identify and resolve issues promptly to minimize delays.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Flexibility, creativity, and initiative in problem-solving.
  • Ability to empathize, support, and collaborate with others on problem resolution.
  • Some publishing experience.
  • Experience of commissioning and managing the work of external suppliers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience of working as part of a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Well-developed organizational skills, including an ability to prioritize.

Desirable:

  • Ability to build relationships, influence, and negotiate with key stakeholders.
  • Experience of training and mentoring on workflows, processes, and tools.
  • Editorial experience in educational publishing.
  • Experience of budget management.
  • A background or interest in ELT.
