About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Practitioner to join our team at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you will be responsible for providing professional nursing management, fostering effective and therapeutic relationships with service users and professionals, and providing expert clinical advice and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess the care needs of service users and develop and implement plans of care for those experiencing acute mental health deterioration or in a state of mental health crisis.
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to the team on shift, ensuring that care is delivered in accordance with Trust policies, protocols, and clinical procedures.
  • Work as part of a team providing a user-focused, accessible, and responsive assessment service that is safe, supportive, and competent for people experiencing acute mental health problems.
  • Provide management supervision to Band 5 staff and undertake managerial duties in the absence of the team coordinator.

Person Specification

  • Registration with a relevant professional body (e.g. NMC for nurses).
  • Mentorship training.
  • Evidence of specialized continued professional training (degree level) in clinical practice.
  • Relevant experience of working with adults with mental health needs or clear evidence of substantial experience of working with individuals in crisis and skills that are transferable to both the community/in-patient.
  • Sound knowledge of the national agenda for mental health.
  • Sound knowledge of clinical/risk assessment and understanding of Information Governance principles.
