The ideal candidate will possess recent experience at Band 6, be qualified in the relevant specialty, hold a current NLS certification, and demonstrate strong leadership and management capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

- Foster and sustain effective communication with individuals and groups across all organizational levels.

- Develop and maintain effective communication channels with external service users and visitors.

- Direct the provision of family-centered care, ensuring a high-quality supportive service for infants and their families, while offering guidance, information, and support.

- Serve as an advocate for the ward/department and enhance existing collaborations with teams and departments.

- Address comments, concerns, complaints, and compliments, assisting in their resolution in collaboration with the Matron and other relevant departments.

- Lead safeguarding initiatives for children, young people, and vulnerable adults within the ward/department.

- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure timely and safe discharge or transfer of care.

- Represent the Matron in meetings as required.

- Maintain close connections with leads from neonatal networks.

- Engage in clinical duties as necessary to uphold skills and competencies.

  • Educated to degree level or possess equivalent relevant experience

Previous Experience

  • Extensive experience in Neonatal Nursing at Band 6 or above
  • Proven experience in teaching within clinical practice

  • Participation in child protection strategy meetings and conferences, including presenting complex safeguarding information.
