About Our Organization
Rainbows Hospice is actively seeking a dedicated Pediatric Palliative Care Clinical Nurse Leader to join our hospital-based team serving the East Midlands. We are expanding our innovative range of services to better support families throughout the region.
Job Duties
This is a full-time position, requiring a commitment of hours per week, Monday through Friday, with on-call responsibilities and occasional weekend shifts. The role is primarily based in a hospital setting, with travel necessary to various healthcare facilities and community locations. Therefore, the ability to travel independently across the region is essential.

Role Expectations
Your primary responsibility will be to provide clinical leadership and specialized knowledge in pediatric palliative care, working alongside existing services. Key tasks include:
- Offering information, support, and expert guidance to families of children with complex health needs.
- Serving as a resource for the multidisciplinary team, influencing the development of palliative care and symptom management.
- Coordinating care for children to ensure seamless service delivery in their preferred environment, whether at home, in a hospice, or in a hospital.
- Contributing to the review and enhancement of services to meet the evolving needs of children requiring palliative care.
- Providing specialized education and training to healthcare professionals and students, as well as engaging in research initiatives.
- Upholding the organization's values while adhering to local policies and guidelines.
Qualifications
Essential
- Registered Nurse with a specialization in pediatric care or equivalent qualifications.
- Extensive experience in palliative care, particularly with children and young people with complex needs.
- Proven leadership capabilities.
- Experience in assessing and managing complex symptoms.
Desirable
- Advanced qualifications in palliative care or a willingness to pursue further education.
- Leadership or management training.
- Strong communication skills.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development.
