Your Role: Delivering High-Quality Mental Health Care

As a Mental Health Assessment Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive mental health assessments and support to patients across various settings. Your responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough mental health, bio-psychosocial, and risk assessments for patients seeking care at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital (REH), the emergency department at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh (RIE), and the Combined Assessment Unit (CAA).
  • Delivering person-centered and trauma-informed care that aligns with NHS Lothian's core values.
  • Collaborating seamlessly with healthcare professionals, including those from NHS 24, Police Scotland, and the Scottish Ambulance Service, to ensure a smooth patient experience.
  • Contributing to continuous service improvement through a quality improvement approach that actively involves patients and their families.

Essential Requirements:

This role requires a current PVG Scheme membership/record for the relevant regulatory group (i.e., child and/or adult). If you are not currently a PVG member, an application will be required through Disclosure Scotland before commencing employment.
