About the Role

NHS Scotland is committed to delivering high-quality, person-centered care to individuals with mental health needs. As a Charge Nurse in our Adult Community Mental Health Team, you will play a vital role in leading and managing the day-to-day work of the nursing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the nursing team to deliver safe, effective, and person-centered care to individuals with severe and/or enduring mental health problems.
  • Work in partnership with individuals to provide psychosocial and psychological interventions, facilitating, enabling, and supporting them within their homes and communities.
  • Provide a supervisory role to members of staff within the nursing team and fulfill the CMHS Duty Worker role.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills as a core component of your role.

Requirements

  • Registered on Sub-Part 1: RN3 or RNMH of the UK NMC Register.
  • Extensive experience of working with people with a wide range of mental health problems.
  • Specialist clinical knowledge of best practice in Mental Health Nursing.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to influence and develop practice.

Working Arrangements

The post is a 37-hour full-time position, currently working Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period, for which they will be paid.
