About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Mental Health Senior Charge Nurse to join our team as a Clinical Lead at NHS Scotland. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced individual to contribute to the success of our public organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide evidence-based clinical interventions and make autonomous clinical decisions about own professional practice.
  • Promote a recovery model that empowers patients, carers, and relatives to be at the forefront of decision making and ownership of their packages of care and treatment.
  • Build and maintain relationships with colleagues to ensure effective communication across NHS Scotland sites and externally with partner agencies.
  • Provide clinical support and professional leadership to the mental health multi-disciplinary team, ensuring the ongoing development of the service and the individual practitioner.
  • Act as a change agent, developing clinically effective practice through the effective utilization and integration of evidence; setting, implementing, and monitoring evidence-based policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Influence clinical decisions and monitor the quality of patient care using expert clinical knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience.
Requirements
  • Possess a Mental Health Nurse qualification and valid NMC Registration.
  • Demonstrate significant post-registration experience across a wide area of mental health service provision, particularly relevant would be experience of working within liaison psychiatry, crisis services, or intensive home treatment teams.
  • Demonstrate experience of teaching, training, and/or supervision of clinical staff.
