Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Programme Commercial Manager, you will be a vital member of the team, overseeing all financial and commercial elements of a project, ensuring that all performance objectives are met or surpassed.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and managing the project's commercial team with values exceeding £150 million, inspiring, mentoring, and coaching the team to reach their full potential.
  • Overseeing the development and maintenance of precise project cost plans and financial estimates throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Directing all change management processes for the project and associated smaller initiatives as necessary.
  • Managing the project budget to ensure value for money and thorough validation of expenses.
  • Facilitating the closure of all contracts within the project, including the formulation and execution of project closure plans.

Candidate Profile

The dynamic environment at Gatwick Airport necessitates that all our teams adopt a flexible and adaptable approach, possess problem-solving capabilities, and maintain an innovative perspective. You will be involved in diverse projects from inception to completion while collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, this role requires:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field such as engineering, business, or construction.
  • Membership in a recognized professional cost organization, such as RICS.
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor on multi-year programs/projects typically exceeding £100 million in a relevant sector.
  • A track record of leading, mentoring, and developing teams.
