Position Overview: As a Senior Commercial Lead, you will take charge of all commercial operations on a significant and intricate project with a financial scope of approximately 300M.

Project Status: The project is currently at the initial design stage, with construction expected to begin in the near future. The contract will be based on the NEC framework.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and guide your team through the various phases of the project development.
  • Manage the procurement of all professional service providers and the Main Contractor, ensuring effective oversight throughout the post-contract phase until the asset is operational.
  • Lead the entire project lifecycle, including the transition of the building into operational use.
  • Implement a flexible working arrangement, allowing for remote work.
  • Receive a competitive annual bonus of up to 20% based on performance.
  • Work within a secure environment that boasts a multi-year project pipeline and a stable, profitable organization.
  • Direct and mentor the commercial team to achieve targeted business objectives.
  • Identify and nurture talent within the team, supporting the development of high-potential individuals.
  • Manage change control processes for the project, ensuring compliance with contract stipulations and timelines.
  • Assist in the tendering and evaluation process, including the selection of suitable procurement strategies and contract types, as well as the preparation of pre-tender estimates.
  • Lead the creation and submission of Monthly Cost Forecasts, maintaining a target accuracy of within 5% month-on-month, utilizing the cost plan and project schedules.
  • Develop and maintain precise project cost plans and estimates throughout the project lifecycle to facilitate governance and procurement processes, including risk management.
  • Conduct formal project cost reviews to ensure alignment between the cost plan and project timeline, addressing any discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • Educational background at HND or Degree level, or equivalent, in quantity surveying.
  • Proven experience in roles such as Lead Senior Quantity Surveyor, Associate Director, or Commercial Manager on large-scale projects (50M+).
  • Strong understanding of the NEC contract framework, with consideration for other contract types.

Compensation: The role offers a competitive salary of approximately 95,000 per annum, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package, including a 20% bonus, travel allowance, private medical insurance, rail discounts, and enhanced employer pension contributions.
