About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Lawyer to join our team at Gatwick Airport. As a key member of our Legal department, you will provide expert legal advice on commercial matters, with a focus on procurement and IT/technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and accurate legal support and advice to the business on commercial matters.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review a range of commercial agreements, including NDAs, software and SAAS agreements.
  • Support the development and improvement of a legal precedent bank.
  • Provide advice and training on the impacts of various legislative requirements.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders across the business.
  • Assist the business in managing disputes with third parties, including liaising with external counsel as required.
Requirements
  • A clear understanding of the commercial targets and strategic requirements of the business.
  • Experience as a qualified lawyer, ideally in-house, dealing with complex and high-value matters.
  • Experience of drafting and negotiating commercial deals, including procurement and technology transactions.
  • Ability to understand and explain risks, to question and test intended courses of action with stakeholders.
  • Capable of analyzing and advising on complex legal and policy issues from a commercial perspective.
  • A self-starter, highly motivated, and able to function independently in a hands-on environment.
  • Ability to translate legal and commercial understanding into practical and actionable advice, understanding and anticipating the consequences of that advice.
  • Ability to work across functions and comfortable interacting with all levels of the business.
