Xenon Recruitment Limited, a leading recruitment agency, is seeking a highly motivated and organized Trainee Estimator to join their team. As a Trainee Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the production of commercial tenders to support the company's growth goals.
THE JOB
This exciting opportunity will allow you to work with a variety of clients, including commercial, residential, and housing sectors. You will be responsible for producing commercial tenders, including bills of quantities, measurement of works, pricing notes, material quotes, and tender document production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Production of commercial tenders, including the creation of bills of quantities, measurement of works, pricing notes, material quotes, and tender document production.
- Update progress against tenders.
- Review enquiry information and collate information in line with the company's business management system.
- Understand scope of works and identify gaps or inconsistency in information.
- Contribute to tender risk and opportunity.
- Contribute to business minimum standards preconstruction activities, including procurement scheduling, launch meetings, project team reviews, scope of works presentations to project teams, and any design responsibilities.
- Work with other business units to produce accurate and comprehensive tender submissions.
- Contribute in TAP, LAP & CAP meetings (Tender Action Plans), (Launch Action Plans) (Client Action Plans)
- Engage procurement for material costs and availability.
- Seek a best value approach.
- Understand client drivers so our tenders reflect their requirements.
- Produce commercial scheduling for managing material and labour spends.
- Ensure project support information allows for accurate commercial management of risk and opportunity.
- Identify commercial opportunities for improved tender margin.
- Ensure a high level of health and safety is upheld wherever possible.
- Ensure HSE risks are identified in tenders and communicated at the planning stages when work is secured.
- Support the company to uphold the highest standards possible.
- Work to the business documents and BMS, raise improvement ideas when identified.
