About the Role

This exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trainee Estimator to join our team at Xenon Recruitment Limited. As a Trainee Estimator, you will play a key role in the production of commercial tenders to support the work winning strategy and growth goals for commercial work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Commercial Tender Production: Produce commercial tenders, including bills of quantities, measurement of works, pricing notes, material quotes, and tender document production.
  • Tender Progress Updates: Update progress against tenders to ensure timely and accurate submissions.
  • Enquiry Information Management: Review enquiry information and collate information in line with our business management system.
  • Scope of Works Understanding: Understand the scope of works and identify gaps or inconsistencies in information.
  • Tender Risk and Opportunity: Contribute to tender risk and opportunity assessments to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Business Minimum Standards: Contribute to business minimum standards preconstruction activities, including procurement scheduling, launch meetings, project team reviews, scope of works presentations to project teams, and design responsibilities.
  • Tender Submissions: Work with other business units to produce accurate and comprehensive tender submissions.
  • TAP, LAP, and CAP Meetings: Contribute to TAP, LAP, and CAP meetings to ensure effective tender planning and execution.
  • Material Costs and Availability: Engage procurement for material costs and availability to ensure optimal tender pricing.
  • Best Value Approach: Seek a best value approach to tender submissions.
  • Client Drivers: Understand client drivers to ensure tender submissions reflect their requirements.
  • Commercial Scheduling: Produce commercial scheduling for managing material and labour spends.
  • Project Support Information: Ensure project support information allows for accurate commercial management of risk and opportunity.
  • Commercial Opportunities: Identify commercial opportunities for improved tender margin.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure a high level of health and safety is upheld wherever possible.
  • HSE Risks: Identify HSE risks in tenders and communicate them at the planning stages when work is secured.
  • Business Standards: Support the Company to uphold the highest standards possible.
  • Business Documents and BMS: Work to the business documents and BMS, raise improvement ideas when identified.
Requirements
