We are seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team at Utility People, a leading provider of gas and electricity connections. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering on target multi-utilities sales in the M&E channel, selling electrical, gas, and water connections, as well as up-selling and cross-selling other utility products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a sales strategy to meet and exceed monthly sales, margin, and KPI targets.
  • Generate and manage a self-discovered opportunity pipeline, closing warm leads, and ensuring timely submission of proposals and tender packs.
  • Collaborate with the estimating and technical solutions team to value-engineer proposals and ensure timely submission.
  • Provide detailed win and loss analysis, and lead on M&E tendering activities and customer negotiation.
  • Establish and maintain lasting relationships with M&E customers, understanding their drivers and incorporating them into proposed solutions.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years' experience in Business Development or Sales positions, preferably in the M&E sector.
  • Proven background in ICP/UIP/IDNO/IGT/utilities infrastructure.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Sales and Marketing techniques, including sales and tender management, customer negotiation, and commercial risk mitigation.
  • Existing relationships with M&E consultants and experience within a project management-focused environment are desirable.
