Role Overview

As the Portfolio & Transformation Management Office Lead, you will provide essential services and capabilities to the Head of Change and the Change Team, facilitating the successful delivery of transformation initiatives and aligning the Munich Re Specialty Global Markets (MRS-GM) change portfolio with company strategy, regulatory requirements, and desired outcomes.

Your collaboration with the Head of Change will ensure that C-level executives and internal stakeholders receive the necessary insights regarding the portfolio, supported by relevant data and information to inform prioritization decisions.

We seek an innovative and creative leader who can demonstrate genuine value beyond traditional PMO functions and establish a strategic vision for the Portfolio & Transformation Management Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the portfolio prioritization framework, collaborating closely with the Head of Change and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with business priorities and articulate impacts of any necessary shifts in focus.
  • Partner with the Change Leadership team to ensure the integrated roadmap and transition phases of the transformation are equipped with the appropriate inputs.
  • Ensure effective governance processes are in place, with timely creation and distribution of materials for Change Committee, Portfolio SteerCo, Budget & Governance meetings.
  • Proactively generate reports that illustrate the health of the portfolio, employing creative methods for data analysis and presentation.
  • Work alongside the PMO team to create, maintain, and update relevant slide decks and data sets for monthly meetings, including Executive SteerCo and Portfolio Governance overview.
  • Engage actively with the Change team, supporting core project activities throughout the project lifecycle, including governance setup, project understanding, planning, resource management, and RAID management.
  • Provide early-phase inputs to ensure Programme/Project Managers are well-informed about project frameworks and governance requirements.
  • Oversee the maintenance of a central view of required and projected expenditures through engagement with business functions.
  • Regularly report on budget forecasts and identify effective fund utilization strategies.
  • Align with Programme and Project Managers on processes for managing project-specific budgets, ensuring full transparency.
  • Collaborate with IT PMO and Portfolio Management to present a holistic view of overall Change and transformation expenditures for MRS-GM.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Experience in managing a Portfolio Management Office for large-scale transformation programs/projects.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and data quality.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, adaptable, and enthusiastic.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders effectively, providing sound advice, constructive challenges, and insightful data.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, both in creation and delivery.
  • A positive attitude is valued more than formal qualifications, though PMO certifications are advantageous.
