About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transformation Portfolio Manager to join our team at NELFT NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Transformation Portfolio Management Office (TPMO), you will play a critical role in delivering our transformation projects and improving access, quality, outcomes, and experiences for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage allocated projects across the Trust, ensuring delivery of transformations and improvements in a collaborative, effective, and timely manner.
  • Work closely with the Transformation SRO and other Transformation Programme Managers to ensure all programmes of work are coordinated, complementary, and understand any co-dependencies.
  • Initiate new projects, including the support and development of effective project documentation and management of projects.
  • Manage, monitor, report, and track the progress of projects, ensuring the intended benefits are achieved with outcomes maximized.
  • Successfully manage expectations on project deliverables, working alongside key stakeholders to understand and interpret potential constraints/risks to project objectives.
  • Delegate project work effectively and ensure it is completed as necessary within the agreed timescales.
  • Ensure project management remains flexible and dynamic, responsive to change at local and national levels.
  • Identify new opportunities for efficiencies and productivity, leading on plans for the delivery of these projects.
  • Build constructive and effective relationships with colleagues and staff at all levels, utilizing relationships and informal networks to achieve delivery of targets.
  • Use persuasive, diplomatic, and motivational skills to break down barriers of misunderstanding, employing a high level of interpersonal and communication skills and striving for a collaborative and early resolution of any highly contentious matters.
Requirements
  • Recognized Project management qualification.
  • Master's level postgraduate qualification in transformation and improvement.
  • Leadership qualification or equivalent senior leadership level experience.
  • Significant experience of delivering successful transformation projects.
  • Significant proven track record in delivering outcomes within agreed timeframes.
  • Significant experience of planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating workshops/service improvement events/team building/away days.
  • Significant experience in managing a team.
  • Experienced in supervising and/or line managing junior members of staff.
  • Experience in achieving co-production of projects with stakeholders, staff, service users, carers, partner organizations.
  • Experience in interpreting policies and national guidelines related to projects.
  • Ability to gather, manipulate, analyze, and present data to a variety of audiences with different levels of understanding.
  • Experience in leading and working in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Significant experience in working across organizational boundaries.
  • Awareness of current NHS priorities.
  • Compassionate, just, flexible leadership skills with the ability to influence, motivate, inspire, and overcome barriers.
