Role Overview

As the Lead for the Portfolio & Transformation Management Office, you will provide essential services and capabilities to the Head of Change and the Change Team, facilitating the delivery of transformation initiatives and aligning the Munich Re Specialty Global Markets (MRS-GM) change portfolio with corporate strategy, regulatory requirements, and desired outcomes.

You will collaborate closely with the Head of Change to ensure that C-level executives and internal stakeholders have the necessary insights regarding the portfolio, supported by relevant data and information to drive prioritization decisions.

We seek an innovative and creative leader who can demonstrate genuine value beyond traditional PMO functions and establish a strategic vision for the Portfolio & Transformation Management Office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the portfolio prioritization framework, collaborating with the Head of Change and business stakeholders to ensure alignment with business priorities and articulate impacts of any necessary adjustments.
  • Work alongside the Change Leadership team to ensure the integrated roadmap and transition phases of the transformation are well-informed and aligned with desired outcomes.
  • Ensure effective governance processes are in place, with timely creation and distribution of materials for Change Committee, Portfolio SteerCo, and Budget & Governance meetings.
  • Proactively generate reports that illustrate the health of the portfolio, employing creative methods for data analysis and presentation.
  • Collaborate with the PMO team to create, maintain, and update relevant presentations and data sets for monthly meetings, including Executive SteerCo and Portfolio Governance overviews.
  • Engage actively with the Change team to support core project activities throughout the project lifecycle, including governance setup, project understanding, planning, resource management, and RAID management.
  • Provide guidance during early project phases to ensure clarity on project frameworks and governance requirements.
  • Oversee the maintenance of a central view of required and projected expenditures through engagement with business functions.
  • Regularly report on budget forecasts and identify opportunities for effective fund utilization.
  • Align with Programme and Project Managers on processes for managing project-specific budgets, ensuring transparency and support.
  • Collaborate with IT PMO and Portfolio Management to provide a comprehensive overview of overall Change and transformation expenditures for MRS-GM.

Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Experience in managing Portfolio Management Offices for large-scale transformation programs/projects.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and data quality.
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, adaptable, and enthusiastic.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and manage stakeholders effectively, providing sound advice, constructive challenges, and influencing decisions with well-structured data and insights.
  • Exceptional presentation skills, both in creating and delivering content.
  • A positive attitude is paramount; PMO qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
