The Head of Portfolio Delivery will lead the portfolio planning, delivery, and transition of Business Change and/or IT Change within the function. The role is responsible for Change delivery and ensuring project and programme management practices align with Quilter policies and industry-accepted best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Change delivery Portfolio plans within the defined business unit/function, utilizing best practices to ensure appropriate services and solutions are proposed, planned, resourced, governed, and delivered in alignment with the defined Portfolio requirements.
- Identify opportunities where external support may be beneficial to Quilter to maximize Change outcomes or mitigate risk.
- Contribute to the Communities of Practice (BA, PM, and PMO) to help shape improved or new ways of working, ensuring Change and programme delivery are aligned to and delivered in accordance with Quilter policies and standards and Community of Practice guidelines.
- Directly line manage Programme and Project Manager roles, prioritizing and managing capacity of the Programme Delivery teams and sourcing services to balance demand and efficiency and ensure the effective delivery of Change and Services.
- Work with a wide variety of stakeholders, including Quilter ExCo members and their teams, leading the analysis and scoping of initiatives and solutions within your defined Change Portfolio.
- Support business teams in the planning, mobilization, and delivery of initiatives within your defined Portfolio.
- Ensure that the drivers for successful delivery of outcomes and interdependencies with other initiatives are both identified and actively managed.
- Implement appropriate measures for tracking, risk management, and mitigation across and within initiatives.
- Escalate and resolve obstacles to successful delivery and achievement of transformation objectives.
- Support the effective reporting of progress to the relevant functional/business executives, the Head of Change, Change Director, Quilter ExCo, and Quilter Board members.
Requirements
- An extensive background as a Change Delivery or Programme Manager (or both).
- Comfortable managing and leading teams both as a direct line manager and in a matrix managed organization.
- Pro-active, delivery and outcome-oriented, risk management, driving for simplicity, tenacity, mitigating bureaucracy, and promoting teamwork.
- Delivery focus, high energy, and drive with the ability to deliver to tight deadlines through others via exceptional delegation and interpersonal skills.
- Comfortable negotiating, building relationships, and communicating with impact.
