About the Role

The UK Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the Digital Delivery Portfolio as the Head of Portfolio Management Office. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement standards for Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management for Digital Delivery across Defence, ensuring the adoption of best practices and the development of project procedures, tools, and techniques.
  2. Champion the implementation of the Digital portfolio across the organisation, providing overall lead and direction.
  3. Collaborate with Digital Strategy, Planning, and demand teams to ensure Technical and Business roadmaps are reflected in the Portfolio and that Defence Digital is embedded in Defence level planning and approvals.
  4. Provide expert guidance, support, and insight on the Digital Delivery Portfolio, Programmes, and Projects, acting as the source of all project information and metrics.
  5. Drive insight and action across the Digital Delivery Portfolio, ensuring the Portfolio delivers impact across Defence by using Data and MI to add insight, coherence, and value.

Requirements:

  • A track record of responsibility for large multi-billion-pound technology/Digital portfolios.
  • A track record of managing and delivering complex Digital projects and programmes.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to drive the Digital Delivery portfolio agenda.
  • Demonstrable understanding of complex acquisition and Digital portfolio delivery.
