The UK Ministry of Defence is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead the Defence Digital Delivery Portfolio as the Head of Portfolio Management Office. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the assurance of the Defence Digital Delivery Portfolio of Programmes and Projects, working closely with Senior Responsible Officers, Delivery Directors, and other key stakeholders to ensure successful delivery. This includes defining and maintaining standards for Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management, championing the implementation of the Digital portfolio across the organisation, and providing expert guidance and support to the Digital Delivery Portfolio, Programmes, and Projects.

The ideal candidate will have a track record of managing and delivering complex Digital projects and programmes, strong communication and influencing skills, and the ability to provide empowering leadership to teams dispersed across multiple locations and matrixed teams. They will also have a demonstrable understanding of complex acquisition and Digital portfolio delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain standards for Portfolio, Programme, and Project Management for Digital Delivery across Defence.
  • Champion the implementation of the Digital portfolio across the organisation.
  • Provide expert guidance and support to the Digital Delivery Portfolio, Programmes, and Projects.
  • Drive insight and action across the Digital Delivery Portfolio, ensuring the Portfolio delivers impact across Defence.

Requirements:

  • Proven track record of managing and delivering complex Digital projects and programmes.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to provide empowering leadership to teams dispersed across multiple locations and matrixed teams.
  • Demonstrable understanding of complex acquisition and Digital portfolio delivery.
