As an External Communications Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our external communications strategy for the Airspace and Future Operations programme, aligning with NATS' overarching vision and strategic objectives.

We are currently seeking candidates for two distinct roles based on expertise:

  • Consultation, Engagement, and Change
  • Content and Digital Communications

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the PR & Comms Manager and Head of Corporate & Community Affairs to devise and implement tailored external communications and engagement strategies that resonate with NATS' vision and strategic goals.
  • Address business challenges by developing suitable solutions and providing in-house consultancy, thereby enhancing the communication capabilities of subject matter experts.
  • Create and execute high-quality communications, engagement, and consultation strategies while considering various external factors.
  • Work proactively with various departments within NATS to ensure consistent and aligned external messaging.
  • Utilize creative problem-solving techniques to foster the ongoing development of communications planning that captivates external stakeholders.
  • Partner with the broader Communications team to elevate the significance of communications, ensuring alignment of messaging and shared opportunities.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

  • Extensive experience in external communications within a prominent organization.
  • Exceptional communication, writing, and editorial capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of political and economic dynamics, with the ability to deliver impactful creative communications to diverse audiences.
  • A blend of diplomacy and business insight that extends beyond mere communications.
  • Capability to customize solutions for unique business challenges.
  • Personable with excellent influencing skills and the ability to navigate resistance effectively.
  • Proficient in both strategic and tactical execution, with meticulous attention to detail and a drive for excellence.
  • A self-motivated individual with the organizational skills to manage multiple projects involving various stakeholders and shifting priorities.
  • Strong networking abilities, adept at establishing and leveraging media and industry contacts.
  • A proactive team player.
