Job Title: Microbiologist - Antimicrobial Resistance Specialist

About the Role:

iFAST Diagnostics is a cutting-edge biotechnology company dedicated to combating the global threat of antimicrobial resistance. We are seeking a highly skilled Microbiologist to join our team in a key role that will contribute to the development and optimization of our antimicrobial testing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and test microorganisms to optimize our antimicrobial testing protocols
  • Develop and refine methods for extracting bacteria from clinical samples
  • Monitor and identify microorganisms from clinical samples to inform testing protocols
  • Support the evaluation and validation of our antimicrobial testing systems in hospitals and research institutions
  • Collaborate with our team to develop new tests for emerging bacteria and other microorganisms
  • Design and execute experiments to ensure our products meet clinical and regulatory standards
  • Collect and analyze samples from various environments to inform testing protocols
  • Present research findings to our team and external partners

Requirements:

  • Strong background in microbiology or a related field, with a good understanding of antimicrobial resistance
  • Excellent laboratory skills, including culturing and testing microorganisms
  • Ability to design and execute experiments, and analyze data to inform testing protocols
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team
  • Good problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively
  • Accurate and methodical approach to work, with attention to detail and documentation
  • Good numeracy and IT skills, with experience of laboratory software and equipment
