Regional Sales Executive - Scotland & Ireland

Field-based, remote


As a key member of the sales team, you will oversee the sales operations for the comprehensive Lucy Electric product portfolio within a designated territory in the UK & Ireland, specifically focusing on the industrial sector.

Your primary objective will be to maximize sales performance through effective management of key accounts and the cultivation of new business opportunities. You will be responsible for the daily oversight of Sales Engineers within your assigned region, ensuring that sales targets are not only met but exceeded, thereby enhancing profitability for the territory.


Lucy Electric stands as a global frontrunner in intelligent secondary power distribution solutions, offering features such as remote operation and monitoring capabilities.

Our expertise lies in high-performance medium and low-voltage switchgear tailored for utility, industrial, and commercial applications, effectively linking energy generation with consumption.


The Industrial Sector Sales Team has demonstrated remarkable success in recent years, contributing significantly to Lucy Electric UK's revenue, accounting for 50% of the overall income.

Key deliverables in the Industrial Market include the sale of IDNO/DNO approved equipment, package substations, and third-party products across the ICP, IDNO, EV, Renewables, Private & Rail sectors.

Growth opportunities for the Industrial Sector Sales team are particularly focused on the EV & Renewables markets, which will be a primary target for this role.


The Industrial Sector Sales Team is one of three principal segment teams within the overall LEUK Sales Team, alongside the DNO Team and the Export Team.

This position will be field/home-based, with regular engagements at Lucy Electric offices and client locations throughout the UK. Occasional travel to international sites may be required.

Your home base should ideally be situated on the UK/Ireland mainland, preferably in Scotland or Ireland.

In this role, you will strive to surpass budgeted sales targets and enhance profitability for your designated territory.
This encompasses setting performance targets, monitoring progress, and reporting outcomes.
Regular interaction with both existing and prospective clients is essential to foster strong, lasting relationships.
Ensure that customer records are accurately maintained through the CRM system.

Support the Head of Industrial Sales in daily account management tasks, collaborating closely with the UK Sales Office, Service, Technical, and Contracts Departments.

Prepare monthly sales forecasts and management reports.

Utilize your strong techno-commercial acumen to secure necessary client approvals or specifications for projects, positioning our products ahead of competitors.

Work collaboratively with the Head of Industrial Sales and colleagues to produce ad-hoc reports and summaries as required.

Stay informed about specific market trends and customer needs, sharing key updates within the organization to ensure alignment with the latest product developments.

Engage in regular performance discussions throughout the year, not limited to annual appraisal meetings.

Implement special projects as directed by the Head of Industrial Sales.
Establish and maintain personal networks; possess extensive and proven experience in engineering sales and business development.
Demonstrate detailed knowledge of low voltage and medium voltage transformers, switchgear products, and automation systems.

Prior experience in selling to UK DNOs, EPCs, EV CPOs, ICPs, IDNOs, and consultants, along with managing distributor relationships in the electrical sector, is essential.

Strong command of the English language is required.
A valid UK driving license is necessary.
Possess an Electrical or Mechanical Engineering HNC/HND or relevant industry experience.
Exhibit strong techno-commercial skills.
