Acute Care Physician

Our healthcare facility is seeking a skilled Acute Care Physician to become a vital member of our medical team.
The Acute Care Physician will be responsible for admitting patients, consulting on surgical cases, performing necessary procedures, providing care, and facilitating patient discharges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily rounds and document comprehensive progress notes with a detailed care plan.
- Engage in team meetings and maintain awareness of all patients' treatment protocols.
- Accurately document clinical findings in patient records and manage medication regimens.
- Order and interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests, ensuring timely coordination of patient transfers.
- Oversee admissions to both the hospital and intensive care unit, with pediatric patients being managed by the designated pediatric physician on call.
Discharge Planning:
- Address inquiries and concerns related to hospitalized patients promptly.
- Respond to rapid response situations across departments and participate in Code Neuro protocols in the hospital or ICU.
Collaboration:
- Triage admissions from emergency and outpatient services, including primary care and surgical specialties.
- Collaborate with surgical teams for the management of surgical patients.
- Participate in handoff communications regarding new admissions, patient progress updates, and follow-up needs during shift changes.
- Engage in hospital committees and initiatives aimed at performance improvement.
Communication:
- Maintain excellent communication with primary care providers and healthcare team members to ensure seamless continuity of care post-discharge.
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams across all units, demonstrating knowledge of healthcare management and the hospital environment.
Work Environment:
- The role may involve physical demands such as lifting patients or handling medical equipment. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Schedule:
- Full-time position with 12 to 14 shifts per month, including holiday coverage.
