Acute Medicine Physician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Stroke Consultant to join our team at Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Stroke team, you will play a vital role in ensuring that all stroke patients admitted to our hospital receive the highest possible level of care.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day-to-day care for stroke patients and outlying medical patients on the Graham Stroke Unit.
- Offer stroke-specific clinical input to general medical wards.
- Ensure Stroke Unit and TIA Provider status is maintained.
- Develop and maintain daily TIA services and referral pathways with local GPs.
- Work with nursing and therapy colleagues to ensure sufficient capacity for stroke patients on admission.
- Collaborate with the local Hyper Acute Stroke Centre to ensure robust protocols for patient transfer.
- Assist the management team in developing future Consultant and junior doctor roles.

Requirements- Fully registered with the GMC.
- MRCP (or equivalent) qualification.
- On specialist register or within 6 months in one of the stroke parent specialities.
- Stroke experience (at equivalent level to Stroke CCST).
- Higher Degree (MSc, MD or PhD).
- CCST in Stroke Medicine.
- Expertise in leadership of an acute care team or stroke care team.
- Experience in emergency or critical care medicine.
