Position Overview

We are in search of Litigation Specialists to enhance our Housing Disrepair team. This position entails overseeing a portfolio of Housing Disrepair and FCILEx cases from inception to resolution, which includes evaluating claims, performing legal research, drafting legal documents, and offering clear guidance to clients. You will represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings, ensuring that all actions adhere to regulatory and ethical standards.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday
  • No weekends

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee a portfolio of Housing Disrepair and FCILEx cases from inception to resolution
  • Evaluate claims and conduct thorough legal research
  • Draft legal documents and provide clear guidance to clients
  • Represent clients in negotiations and court proceedings
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory and ethical standards
  • Adopt a pragmatic commercial approach to settlements and client advice
  • Supervise and mentor junior staff members
  • Engage in ongoing professional development

Required Experience:

  • Qualified Solicitor or equivalent with a minimum of 12 years PQE in housing disrepair
  • Strong knowledge of the housing disrepair protocol and comfort with housing disrepair litigation
  • Understanding of relevant legislation and common law principles
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Pre-Action Protocol for Housing Conditions Claims (England and Wales)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience in managing Housing Disrepair files from start to finish, including litigated cases
