About the Role
Vistry Group PLC is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Reading, Berkshire. As a key member of our Commercial Department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and coordinate the quantity surveying functions, including the procurement of subcontracts and the negotiation of contracts with clients and subcontractors.
- Maximize profitability by ensuring that all contractual procedures are followed and that the company's strategic objectives are met.
- Work closely with the build and commercial teams to ensure that the contractual position of the company is protected and that cash flow is optimized.
- Provide pre-contract advice to the Estimating Department on amended terms and conditions of main contracts and resource availability for forward workload.
- Prepare and recover claims, and provide monthly cost value reports and margin analysis in conjunction with line management.
- Forecast out-turn margin and commercial analysis, and coordinate cash flow forecasts for each site.
- Monitor and adhere to LOS commercial requirements on allocated sites, and track and monitor procurement with allocated sites and surveyors.
- Report any major variances to the Regional Commercial Director, and attend departmental meetings as required.
- Deal with queries from build teams, and maintain open lines of communication with colleagues in other regions.
- Work with build and other departments to ensure a working relationship with key suppliers and subcontractors is maintained where possible.
- Motivate, plan, coordinate, maintain, and develop staff to undertake current and prospective workloads.
- Participate in and actively encourage company training courses and on-the-job training.
- Monitor and record individual performances on an ongoing basis, together with annual appraisals.
