Are you a seasoned Registered Manager looking for a fulfilling role in overseeing a dedicated children's residential service? Leader Recruitment Group is collaborating with a prominent client in the children's residential sector to find a qualified Registered Manager for their facility.

About the Facility

This well-appointed residence has been thoughtfully renovated to accommodate up to eight young individuals. Nestled in a tranquil setting, it features ample outdoor space, including recreational facilities. Our client is devoted to fostering exceptional outcomes for the young residents, supporting them in realizing their full potential. The environment is designed to be safe and nurturing, allowing young people to form positive relationships while addressing past challenges and planning for their futures.

Key Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years' experience in a senior role within a residential childcare environment within the last five years.
  • Proficient understanding and experience in applying the Quality Care Standards for Children's Homes.
  • Experience in administrative tasks such as documentation, scheduling, and report generation for children's services.
  • At least one year of experience in supervising and managing professional staff.
  • Possession of a Level 4/5 qualification in 'Working with Children and Young People' (or equivalent).
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
  • Current Safeguarding and/or Recruitment Training.
  • Willingness to apply for Registered Manager status and participate in an assessment interview.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage weekly financial planning for cash and petty cash.
  • Uphold the welfare of children as outlined in relevant legislation.
  • Conduct weekly staff meetings and participate in monthly senior management meetings.
  • Organize and engage in training sessions as necessary, contributing to personal professional growth by staying informed on national childcare policies and practices.
  • Lead statutory and internal reviews for all young residents.
  • Provide guidance during emergencies and be available for consultation as needed.
  • Ensure all staff are informed of procedural updates within the organization.
  • Encourage open communication among staff and create avenues for feedback.
  • Support staff during shifts, particularly during challenging situations.
  • Deliver constructive feedback to foster a professional working environment.
  • Notify the Responsible Individual promptly regarding any disputes.
  • Oversee staff scheduling and manage annual leave.
  • Promote equality and inclusivity.
  • Ensure the safety and security of young residents and staff during outings.
  • Be accountable for decisions impacting the welfare of young individuals and staff.
  • Encourage young residents to engage in decision-making processes.
  • Oversee compliance with current regulations in administrative matters.
  • Ensure all activities are assessed for risk.
  • Overtime may be required as necessary.
  • Sleep-in shifts may be necessary, with potential additional earnings.
