Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Children's Home Registered Manager to join our team at Apple Orchard. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Oversee the weekly budgeting of cash and petty cash, ensuring accurate financial records and compliance with company policies.
  • Staff Supervision: Facilitate regular staff meetings and supervision sessions, providing guidance and support to ensure the well-being of our young people and staff.
  • Training and Development: Arrange and participate in training sessions, staying up-to-date with national developments in childcare policies and practices.
  • Statutory Reviews: Chair statutory and in-house reviews for all young people, ensuring their needs are met and their progress is monitored.
  • Safety and Security: Ensure the safety and security of young people and staff while on outings, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Decision Making: Make informed decisions regarding the welfare of young people and staff, taking into account their individual needs and circumstances.
  • Staff Support: Offer guidance and support to staff, particularly during incidents, and provide regular feedback and coaching.
  • Leave Management: Oversee staff annual leave, ensuring adequate cover and minimizing disruptions to our services.
  • Overtime and Sleep-ins: Participate in overtime and sleep-in shifts as required, ensuring the needs of our young people are met.
Requirements
  • Experience: At least 3 years' experience in a Residential child care setting at a Senior level within the last five years.
  • Qualifications: Professional qualification at Level 4/5 'Working with Children and Young People' (or equivalent).
  • Skills: Knowledge and experience of implementing the Quality Care Standards for Children's Homes, up-to-date Safeguarding and/or Recruitment Training, and a willingness to pursue further training.
