Are you an experienced Registered Manager with a commitment to leading children's services? Leader Recruitment Group is collaborating with a prestigious children's residential care organization to find a dedicated Registered Manager for a specialized all-boys home.

About the Facility

Located in a picturesque area, this well-appointed home accommodates up to eight young individuals. Set on expansive grounds that include recreational facilities, the home is designed to provide a secure and supportive atmosphere where young people can flourish. Our client is focused on building positive relationships and empowering youth to navigate their past challenges while looking forward to a promising future.

Essential Qualifications

  • Leadership Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a senior role within a residential childcare environment in the past five years.
  • Quality Standards Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding and hands-on experience in applying the Quality Care Standards for Children's Homes.
  • Staff Management: At least one year of experience in supervising and managing a professional team.
  • Professional Credentials: Level 4/5 Qualification in 'Working with Children and Young People' (or equivalent).
  • Commitment to Development: A dedication to ongoing training and professional growth.
  • Safeguarding Expertise: Current training in Safeguarding and Recruitment practices.
  • Ofsted Registration: Willingness to pursue Ofsted Registered Manager status and participate in a suitability interview.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Oversight: Manage weekly budgeting for cash and petty cash.
  • Child Welfare Advocacy: Promote and protect the welfare of children as per the Children Act 1989.
  • Team Leadership: Conduct weekly staff meetings and supervisions while attending monthly senior management meetings.
  • Training Coordination: Organize and engage in training sessions, staying updated on national childcare policies and practices.
  • Review Management: Lead and chair statutory and in-house reviews for all young residents.
  • Emergency Management: Provide guidance over the phone and be ready to respond in person during emergencies.
  • Staff Communication: Ensure all team members are informed of procedural updates and foster open communication and feedback.
  • Support and Guidance: Offer support during shifts, especially in managing incidents, and provide constructive feedback to enhance professionalism.
  • Conflict Management: Promptly notify the Responsible Individual of any disputes or significant issues.
  • Rota Coordination: Manage weekly staff schedules and oversee annual leave planning.
  • Equal Opportunity Promotion: Uphold and advocate for equal opportunities within the facility.
  • Safety Assurance: Ensure the safety and security of young people and staff, both within the facility and during outings.
  • Decision Accountability: Be responsible for decisions affecting the welfare of young individuals and staff at all times.
  • Youth Engagement: Encourage young people to take part in decision-making and planning processes.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Oversee all administrative tasks in line with current regulations and ensure all activities are appropriately risk-assessed.
  • Flexible Availability: Be open to working overtime as required and participate in sleep-in shifts, with potential additional earnings.
