Title: Manager of Residential Childcare Services
Contract Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary Range: £40,000 - £50,000
Working Hours: 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)

Are you a qualified Manager with a passion for leading a residential service dedicated to children? Leader Recruitment Group is collaborating with a prominent organization in the field of children's residential care to find a suitable candidate for the role of Manager.

This organization operates a beautifully renovated facility designed to accommodate up to eight young individuals. The property is set in a tranquil environment, featuring ample outdoor space that includes recreational facilities. The organization is devoted to fostering positive outcomes for children, enabling them to realize their full potential in a supportive and secure atmosphere.

Key Qualifications

  • A minimum of three years' experience in a senior role within a residential childcare environment within the last five years.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Quality Care Standards applicable to Children's Homes.
  • Proficiency in administrative responsibilities, including documentation, scheduling, and report generation.
  • At least one year of experience in supervising and managing staff.
  • Possession of a professional qualification at Level 4/5 in 'Working with Children and Young People' or an equivalent.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
  • Current training in Safeguarding and/or Recruitment.
  • Willingness to apply for Registered Manager status with the relevant regulatory body.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management of weekly budgets and petty cash.
  • Ensure the welfare of children in accordance with relevant legislation.
  • Facilitate regular staff meetings and participate in senior management discussions.
  • Coordinate and engage in training sessions to enhance professional growth.
  • Lead statutory and internal reviews for all young residents.
  • Provide support and guidance during emergencies and critical situations.
  • Keep staff informed of procedural updates and changes.
  • Encourage open communication among team members and create a supportive work environment.
  • Offer mentorship and constructive feedback to staff during shifts.
  • Maintain accountability for the safety and well-being of both children and staff.
  • Promote equal opportunities and inclusivity within the service.
  • Ensure that all activities are conducted safely and in compliance with regulations.
  • Be prepared for additional duties as required, including on-call responsibilities.
