Apple Orchard is dedicated to providing a nurturing environment for young individuals, having evolved since its inception to accommodate up to eight residents.
The facility is set within expansive grounds, featuring recreational amenities such as a football pitch and an all-weather basketball court.
Our mission is to ensure exceptional outcomes for the young people in our care, empowering them to reach their fullest potential.
Qualifications and Experience Required:
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a senior role within a residential childcare environment in the last five years.
- Proficient knowledge of the Quality Care Standards applicable to Children's Homes.
- Experience in administrative tasks including documentation, scheduling, and report generation for Children's Homes.
- Professional qualification at Level 4/5 in 'Working with Children and Young People' (or equivalent).
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and training.
- Current Safeguarding and/or Recruitment Training.
- Willingness to apply for Registered Manager status and participate in an assessment interview.
Key Responsibilities:
- Uphold the welfare of children as outlined in relevant legislation.
- Conduct weekly staff meetings and supervision sessions lasting 1.5 hours.
- Organize and engage in training sessions as necessary, while staying informed about national childcare policies and practices.
- Lead statutory and internal reviews for all young residents.
- Provide guidance and support to staff during shifts, especially in crisis situations.
- Notify the Responsible Individual promptly regarding any disputes.
- Manage weekly staff schedules and annual leave.
- Ensure the safety and security of young people and staff during public outings.
- Be accountable for decisions affecting the welfare of young residents and staff at all times.
- Encourage young people to take part in decision-making and planning processes.
- Facilitate individual supervision for staff members.
- Oversee all house activities, ensuring comprehensive risk assessments are conducted.
- Overtime may be required based on business needs, compensated at the standard hourly rate.
- Sleep-in shifts may also be necessary, with potential additional earnings.
