Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the residential team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care and support services.
    • Manage and develop the skills and abilities of the residential team, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to provide excellent care and support.
  • Operational Management
    • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the children's home, ensuring the smooth running of all aspects of the service.
    • Manage the budget and resources of the children's home, ensuring effective use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Quality and Compliance
    • Ensure the children's home meets all relevant regulatory and quality standards, including the Quality Care Standards for Children's Homes.
    • Develop and implement quality improvement plans to ensure continuous improvement and excellence in care and support services.
  • Communication and Collaboration
    • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including young people, families, and external agencies.
    • Collaborate with other teams and services to ensure seamless delivery of care and support services.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years' experience in a Residential child care setting at a Senior level within the last five years.
  • Knowledge and experience of implementing the Quality Care Standards for Children's Homes.
  • Experience of carrying out administrative duties such as filing, recording, rota preparation and report writing for Children's Homes.
  • At least one year's experience in supervising and managing professional staff.
  • Professional qualification at Level 4/5 'Working with Children and Young People' (or equivalent)
  • A willingness and desire to pursue further training.
  • Up-to-date Safeguarding and/or Recruitment Training.
