Senior Consultant – Reactive Investigations

Our Consulting services encompass six core solutions: business transformation, deal services, finance function support, risk and governance, forensic and investigative services, and restructuring. These solutions are designed to provide a customized approach that assists our clients in reaching their strategic objectives while empowering our team members to make a significant impact and carve out their unique career trajectories.

Overall Job Purpose The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the execution of reactive assignments across a diverse range of clients. This includes serving as the principal consultant in the delivery of investigations and related projects.

The position requires periods of independent work as well as collaboration within teams of varying sizes, depending on the project or assignment. As a client-facing role, it is essential to act as a representative of RSM, embodying the qualities of a trusted professional advisor in fraud matters. This position is ideal for candidates with a background in criminal investigations related to fraud and financial crime, who are looking to engage with a wide array of clients and assignments. Key responsibilities will include delivering investigative services and assisting clients who have encountered fraud incidents, necessitating investigative expertise in accordance with criminal, disciplinary, and regulatory frameworks.

The individual in this role is expected to uphold RSM's standards of service and values, ensuring the timely execution of fraud investigations to a criminal standard, which includes the preparation of case files and the presentation of cases in both magistrates and crown courts. Additional responsibilities may involve client support and other tasks as required. This includes possessing the commercial insight necessary to deliver work on schedule, within quality standards, and budget constraints. The successful candidate will have personal objectives, a career development plan, and individual performance targets that will be reviewed periodically with their line manager. All work must comply with the Fraud Risk Services Standing Operating Procedure and relevant RSM policies and regulatory obligations.

The selected candidate will be required to undergo enhanced DBS and propriety clearance upon appointment and throughout their employment.

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in a fraud prevention, detection, or investigations team
  • ACFS qualification
  • Experience managing cases during criminal proceedings
  • Ability to organize and manage a diverse workload
  • Strong knowledge of fraud and bribery legislation
  • Proficient in IT and office software applications
  • Team-oriented with strong relationship-building skills
