About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fraud Prevention Specialist to join our Policy Fraud team at Acorn Insurance and Financial Services Limited. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for extracting and analyzing fraud data, building and optimizing counter fraud rule sets, and collaborating with our counter fraud, pricing, and underwriting departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive counter fraud performance through detection and prevention at various stages of the insurance process.
  • Own, maintain, and develop counter fraud rules in SIRA, Iovation, and other counter fraud platforms.
  • Collaborate with IT and development teams to identify gaps and resolve errors within counter fraud platforms.
  • Report on policy fraud strategic and operational performance using SQL, Excel, and Power BI.
  • Work with pricing to understand and find solutions to fraud and its impact on loss ratios.
  • Collaborate with wider business areas to understand and report on fraud risk.
  • Assist in promoting data integrity across the business.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies regarding Financial Crime, TCF, GDPR, and FCA regulations.
  • Maintain and extend professional relationships with intelligence suppliers, professional bodies, and law enforcement agencies.
Requirements
  • 2+ years of experience working with rule-based counter fraud systems.
  • Experience building and optimizing policy fraud rule sets.
  • Exposure to organized fraud and application fraud risk and investigations.
  • Experience working with SQL, Excel, and/or Power BI.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of insurance and underwriting best practice.
  • Demonstrable understanding of compliance legislation within the financial services sector.
  • Ability to work as part of a team with effective communication.
  • Reliable and accurate in all activities undertaken.
  • Good time management and organization skills.
