HR Operations Support Officer

Spencer Clarke Group is collaborating with a prominent local authority seeking an Operations Support Officer.

The HR Operations Team is integral in ensuring that all administrative tasks related to the employee lifecycle within the organization are executed promptly and efficiently, often addressing urgent and unforeseen requests, thereby facilitating the achievement of organizational and departmental objectives.

The Operations Support Officer position will manage the daily operations of the Business Support Officers within the team, ensuring that the unit functions cohesively and maintains a high level of professionalism.

Contract Type: Temporary engagement for 3 - 6 months with potential for extension.

Working Schedule: 35 hours per week; alternating between 2 days in the office one week and 3 days the next. Flexibility is required regarding which days are spent in the office.

Compensation: £153+ per day, negotiable based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the management of the central communication mailbox for the team.
  • Coordinate rota management and annual leave calendar to ensure consistent coverage and task delivery.
  • Address first-level escalations effectively.
  • Analyze workload reports submitted by Business Support Officers to ensure equitable distribution of tasks.
  • Provide transactional assistance to the team as needed, particularly for urgent and sensitive requests from service managers and HR colleagues.
  • Support specific projects involving the team, such as post-deletion and establishment cleansing initiatives.
  • Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality regarding employee documentation, adhering to service standards and GDPR regulations.
  • Perform additional administrative duties consistent with the role and team objectives.

Required Experience:

  • Skilled in managing, sorting, and analyzing extensive datasets related to employee records.
  • Familiarity with HR Information Systems (HRIS).
  • Highly proficient in the MS 365 suite.
