Position Overview

This role is a senior position within the Neonatology department, designed for experienced clinicians at the ST4+ level. The successful candidate will join a team of six middle-grade doctors dedicated to providing exceptional care in Neonatology.

The position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a Level 2 Neonatal Unit, which is integral to our healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities

The Neonatal Unit serves as a sub-regional Level 2 Centre, admitting a significant number of critically ill and premature infants from various regions. Our facility is equipped to provide advanced medical interventions, including:

  • Ventilation support
  • Therapeutic cooling
  • Echocardiography (ECHO)
  • Cranial Ultrasound

Additionally, we have access to MRI and formal EEG services to enhance the management of our patients.

Infants born before 27 weeks of gestation are referred to a specialized tertiary Neonatal Unit. We maintain strong collaborative relationships with the tertiary team, ensuring comprehensive surgical and neurosurgical support when necessary. Our Obstetric unit is equipped to handle high-risk pregnancies, staffed by specialists in high-risk obstetrics and fetal medicine.

About Our Institution

Our healthcare facility manages approximately 7,000 new medical outpatient visits annually, with a total of around 25,000 visits across all specialties.

We have a dedicated pediatric radiology department that offers screening and ultrasound services, alongside CT, MRI, and nuclear medicine capabilities. Our team includes two pediatric radiologists.

The Pediatric Electrophysiological department provides essential EEG and EMG services, ensuring comprehensive diagnostic capabilities.

Our Pediatric Emergency Department operates within the main Emergency Department, specifically designed for pediatric care and staffed continuously by trained pediatric professionals.
