Position Overview
We are seeking to fill a part-time, permanent position for a Clinical Psychologist specializing in General Paediatrics. The successful candidate will provide psychological services to the Paediatric Consultants at our institution.
Joining our collaborative and supportive team of three experienced Paediatric Psychologists, you will have the opportunity to enhance your skills in child and family services within a well-structured environment.
Our current services engage with multidisciplinary teams for paediatric diabetes and allergy, in addition to general paediatric care. We also facilitate a Clinical Psychologist Trainee placement for the Clinical Psychology Programme at Surrey University.
Our trust boasts a well-established network of both adult and child Clinical Psychologists, forming a Clinical Health Psychology team that addresses pain management, chronic health conditions, and other specialized services.
We maintain strong partnerships with Surrey University and other clinical health psychology services in the region.
We welcome applications from individuals currently at Band 7 who are interested in a preceptorship role leading to Band 8a.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Psychologist (Band 8a)
The primary focus of this role will be to deliver psychological assessments and interventions to young patients and their families facing chronic and acute health challenges.
As part of a small yet dynamic paediatric psychology department, you will:
- Collaborate with a broader network of psychologists within our trust.
- Engage in audit, supervision, and educational activities within the department.

Qualifications and Experience
Essential:
- Doctoral-level training in clinical psychology, accredited by the BPS.
- Experience working at a highly specialized level with children and young people.
- Registered with the HCPC as a practitioner psychologist.
Desirable:
- Post-doctoral training in specialized areas of psychological practice.
