**A bit about the role**
An exciting opportunity for an experienced ER Specialist to join our fast paced, busy team based in the Newcastle.
Working closely with the Head of Employee Relations you will support our Data Collection Department from an ER perspective. You will handle the most technical and complex of ER matters by taking a proactive approach.
This role offers a great opportunity to be exposed to all areas of Employee Relations alongside the opportunity to collaboratively work alongside and influence senior stakeholders.
**A bit about you**
As a self-starter who has wide ranging experience of employee relations issues, you will be someone who can work at a fast pace with a natural ability to lead.
You will be confident providing advice and support to managers and HR Business Partners to enable the efficient handling of ER cases including, but not limited to; reviewing of investigation documentation and advising on content, drafting of letters in linewith several policy areas (disciplinary, grievance, capability, absence etc.).
**Key Responsibilities**
- To act as first point of contact for complex ER queries.
- Provide a commercial, efficient, professional and customer focused ER service to your stakeholders
- Work in partnership with all levels of Managers in order to advise and coach them where necessary.
- Assess and communicate any risks and/or costs to the business in relation to ER issues.
- Effective and efficient case management of the team's and your own workload
- Input and maintain record of cases within the case management system.
- Champion areas of expertise, keeping the wider HR team up to date with changes in best practice, statutory changes and process improvement
- Ensure all HR/ER systems and files are kept up to date, project work where required.
**Knowledge & Skills Required**
- Experience of independently managing complex employee relations cases.
- Experience of managing the early conciliation processes with ACAS.
- Effective oral and written communication that resonates with the target audience.
- Ability to influence stakeholders and build good working relationships at all levels throughout the business.
- High level of organisational skills with the ability to plan and prioritise and to be adaptable as required by business need.
- Able to negotiate and challenge behaviours appropriately in order to move a situation forward positively.
- Leading and supporting meetings where required.
- Ensuring Employee files and records are kept up to date
- Background in Utilities would be advantageous
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, with ability to manipulate spreadsheets to model different scenarios.
- Confidence with PowerPoint and presenting to diverse audiences
**Education/Qualifications**:
- CIPD Qualified or have relevant HR experience in a similar role
