**Activities Co-ordinator**

**JOB DESCRIPTION**

**MAIN PURPOSE AND SCOPE OF THE JOB**: To organise child, youth and family activities for our membership and British Sign Language training for the community as directed by the CEO and delivery team.

**REPORTS TO**: The CEO

**Salary**: £14ph

**Hours**: 10 per week, (flexible - morning hours preferred) you must be able to work during school holiday periods with some exceptions. Please contact us if you need to discuss this further.

The role will involve working closely with colleagues in Phoenix, to ensure a co-ordinated approach throughout and will require working, on occasions, outside of normal office hours.

**Place of work**: At the Phoenix centre in Stevenage

**Duties will include**
- Make activity bookings with external providers, as directed by delivery staff and the CEO
- Liaising with potential activity providers, and ensuring that they are compliant with regards to Health and Safety and Safeguarding procedures.
- Organise our British Sign Language sessions in the community, working closely with the course teacher.
- Organise our online events working closely with the delivery team, sharing information to participants and following up evaluations after the events.
- Manage participant and members enquires relating to the events.
- Purchase and organise activity resources as and when required.
- Help to plan and deliver some Phoenix events such as fundraising events, the AGM and the Christmas party.
- Any other business in line with the activity planner’s role as required by the delivery team or CEO.

**You will be required to;**
- Have proven planning experience with excellent IT skills, including MS Word and Outlook
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills
- Have a good understanding of child/youth/family focused activity and the needs of our membership.
- Demonstrate a high standard of written English.
- Prioritise your workload well and work well under pressure.
- Be a positive thinking, creative and energetic individual
- Have excellent communication skills for liaising with our members, staff and volunteers, corporate organisations and for dealing with general enquiries. (BSL would be an advantage but not essential)

- Form professional and positive relationships with Phoenix members, colleagues and others who you engage with.
- To maintain confidentiality, in accordance with Phoenix policies and GDPR.

**Job Type**: Part-time
Part-time hours: 10 per week

**Salary**: £14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 per week
