**The Opportunity**:
The Institute for Academic Development (IAD) are looking for a well-organised and detail-orientated administrator to provide comprehensive administrative support for a portfolio of IAD projects and activities in University strategic priority areas, with a particular emphasis on staff and student engagement and curriculum innovation.

The post-holder will support the successful organisation, administration and delivery of the University’s annual Learning and Teaching Conference; support the administration of funding streams managed by the IAD; and collaborate with key colleagues to ensure that a high-quality service is provided to students, staff, official visitors, and external stakeholders. The post will also provide an element of personal administrative support to the IAD Co-Directors, including diary and inbox management.

The Institute for Academic Development is located in Edinburgh’s beautiful Old Town. We are a medium-sized support service department of 45-50 staff based in a modern University complex, just off Holyrood Road. We are just a 5-10 minute walk from the central Waverley train station and Princes Street area, thus have excellent bus and train link access.

Your skills and attributes for success:

- A minimum of Vocational qualifications (N/SVQ 3, ONC or equivalent) plus relevant work experience.
- Experience of event organisation.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and relevant computing and IT skills: highly competent in the use of standard office software packages, other digital tools (e.g. social media such as blogs and twitter)
- Experience of providing high-quality customer service.
- Proven ability to use initiative and judgement effectively to resolve day to day issues independently.
- Experience of virtual event platforms, and working with funding schemes and/or projects, would be desirable
