**20 month Fixed Term Contract - Apprenticeship**

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an apprentice ward administrator/ personal assistant to work between Gissing and Edgefield ward to provide a dedicated, comprehensive personal assistant/ administrative service to the Ward Sisters and other relevant senior staff as necessary.

You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship qualification within the duration of the placement.

Eligibility Criteria

**All applicants must be**:

- Aged 16+
- Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three consecutive years
- Must not be in any form of formal government-funded education upon the start of their apprenticeship

**Qualifications and Skills Required**:

- Good general standard of education
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Good IT skills

**Full time**: 37.5 hours per week.

The position will include supporting the management of diaries, coordination of meetings, draft correspondence, scanning, photocopying, and filing as required.

**As post holder, you will**:

- you will be required to work in conjunction with the ward sisters.
- arrange meetings and training events.
- record meetings on behalf of the Ward Sister, including the production of agendas and the taking and circulation of minutes.
- prepare documents using Microsoft Office software (letters, memos, reports etc.) for approval as directed, and create and maintain reports, spreadsheets and databases as required.
- collate, organise and expedite reports on HR issues i.e. annual leave, sickness, study leave and any other authorised or unauthorised absence from within the Wards.
- support the delivery of a high quality, safe and compassionate healthcare service, all staff are expected to act as a role model to others in all aspects of their work and consistently demonstrate NNUH’s ‘PRIDE’ values of People focused, Respect, Integrity, Dedication and Excellence and demonstrate behaviors that support and encourage an inclusive culture.
