Job Title: Apprentice Ward Clerk

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our dynamic team as an Apprentice Ward Clerk in our brand-new Inpatient Therapy Unit.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in healthcare administration while supporting patient care. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing ongoing support to the Ward Clerks, ensuring that all administrative processes and tasks are undertaken efficiently and effectively, contributing to the smooth running of the ward and reception areas.

The estimated salary for this position is around £19,000-£20,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including access to training and development opportunities, a generous holiday allowance, and a supportive work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer the telephone and deal with or refer on all incoming calls to the ward staff as appropriate.
  • Provide continuity of presence at the ward reception desk.
  • Liaise with the help desk to ensure all IT faults and queries are dealt with efficiently and effectively.
  • Liaise with nursing teams to book appropriate transport for discharge.
  • Maintain supply of patient information leaflets at all times.
