System Support Administrator

A 12 months fixed term/secondment opportunity as a System Support Administrator has arisen within the Clinical Informatics department.
The post holder will provide support to the Bespoke System Manager, assisting with testing, maintenance, configuration and development of the Trusts Clinical Systems.
Working hours is negotiable.
To work closely with other colleagues within the Clinical Informatics Team, attending meetings/workshops, documenting minutes and maintaining the service desk portal for the team.

- Provide second line support to Trust staff in the use of the Trusts Clinical Systems.
- Assist in release testing and implementation of software upgrades, including recommendation on new functions.
- To carry out configuration within a Trust system.
- Highlight training needs, particularly for new modules/upgrades and liaise with the Clinical System Trainers to ensure training courses are delivered where appropriate.
- Attend configuration workshop/meetings and document minutes professionally.
- Undertake housekeeping functions as directed by the System Manager.
- Assist in creating documentation such as Standard Operating Procedures and testing scripts.
- To carry out any other duties commensurate with the grade as may be required by the System Managers.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES**:

Communication and Relationships
- Providing and receiving routine information orally, in writing or electronically to inform work colleagues and other external contacts.
- Be able to support and provide clear and concise instructions to system users as required.
- Ability to communicate with trust employees and external organisations complex analytical information. This may include fault reports, diagnosis and relevant event logs.
Knowledge, Training and Experience
- Undertake training and development to enhance existing skills, as and when required by your line manager.
- Understanding of a range of work procedures possibly outside immediate work area, which would require a combination of on the job training and a period of induction.
- Keep up to date with departmental and trust information, by attending meetings, seminars, reading appropriate communications and discussions with colleagues.Analytical and Judgmental
- Judgements involving a range of facts or situations, which require analysis or comparison of a range of options.
- Be able to identify software issues pertinent to the Clinical Systems and fix or escalate in line with departmental procedures.
- Supporting the System Manager with analysing training documentation to assist the Training Team in the updating of materials.
Planning and Organisational Skills
- Planning and organisation of straightforward tasks, activities or programmes, some of which may be ongoing.
Physical Skills
- Required to have good keyboard skills, and extended knowledge on the use of VDU equipment.
